Officials confirmed the death of a 37-year-old man who was shot and killed at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon in Mount Vernon in a brazen shooting outside of a local home in broad daylight, leading to the closure of Union Avenue for a stretch on Monday afternoon as police investigated the incident.
The incident remains under investigation.
No suspect has been taken into police custody, and no motive for the shooting has been released.
